DENIM ON DENIM FOR SUMMER

August 28, 2015
This post is sponsored by Sears. As always all opinions are my own.
Chambray by Bongo via Sears
Denim Skirt by Bongo via Sears
One of my favorite trends this summer has to be denim on denim.
So classic and very Americana but still so trendy and cool.
I love that you can mix and match the pieces into endless outfit options. Most people do denim on denim using jean pants... I decided to take it a step further and do a denim skirt and the classic chambray, all by Bongo from Sears! I love the style and quality of both. So soft and comfortable, easy to move it and perfect for the last few days of summer.
I love how this look turned out. I added little touches here and there to make it my own and give it a little fun summer look. You can add cute sandals or shoeties too. I went with oxfords because they are super chic and comfortable. These two pieces are great transitional pieces to use from summer into fall. Just change up the shoes into flat knee highs and add a scarf and you are good to go.
And if you are stuck on your first day of school outfit, this is a great option too!
Bongo has to be my favorite brand at Sears, they are affordable and always up to date on the latest trends.
If there's one piece you need this season, make it the chambray! You won't regret it!
I wear mine all year round. How do you wear your chambray?

FRINGE + DENIM SHORTS

August 26, 2015
Sunnies: Cotton On
Tee: c/o SheIn
Denim Shorts: c/o SheIn
Bag: Marc Jacobs
...
We've had a few pretty humid days lately on this side of the Coast.
I've been all about shorts and tees, keeping it simple and fresh. I love this fringe top paired with these black denim shorts. When I received the shorts I realized they were a little too short so I was happy to wear them with this long top. Perfect for an evening of mini golf and baseball!
I wore this casual look for a family night out with the kiddies and some friends.
I hope you are having a great week! Stay tuned for a super cute denim on denim look this week!

GET READY WITH ME THIS NYFW 2015

August 24, 2015
“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future… this is known as Fashion Week.” – and this year I am so happy to bring an easy and beautiful makeup look that you can rock this September on the streets of New York as you make your way into the uber fab runways shows.  If you know me you know I love to save any dime I can… while of course making the most of my time. That includes my makeup routine! I l rely on quality products and great prices.
For today’s look I wanted to share my girl-next-door super natural but yet still beautiful and eye catching for the busy streets of New York. There is nothing better than feeling beautiful and I have to confess that makeup does exactly that for me. That’s not to say I don’t feel beautiful without it, but it does give me a little pick me up even on my worse days! I love a J-Lo glow with a pink lip and a fabulous cat eye! A little glam a little pretty all in one! This time I was able to achieve this look using all products I found at my local Walgreens. From Circa to Botanicals and of course Essie and No.7 brands, some were already in my beauty bag, others I was new to and loved!
My favorite for everyday? The Botanicals balm! It smells amazing, so fresh and best of all gives me a gorgeous glow I love, with and without makeup. The No.7 brand was new to me, and I am now obsessed with the bronzer/blush compact, it’s perfect for every day and for a more dramatic night look, simply add more with your brush… but be careful a little goes a long way!

I have been using Circa for a little while now and I totally recommend the eye crayon, the one I used here is called Pure Topaz. Top it with Circa’s  eye liner in Vibrant Emerald (so gorgeous and shimmery) and you are ready to kill with a subtle but fashionable look. If you know me you I am all about natural lipsticks and nude glosses lately, this one also by Circa (in Satin Blush) was no exception and is in my every day bag for a quick pucker makeover whenever I need it!
Lastly, finish your look by adding a bold and chic color like First Timer by Essie! Your hands will be sure to make a statement even with the subtlest of makeup looks! I am all about balance and if I am wearing a full “all about that glow” and nudes face then I love to balance that out with a killer outfit and bold nails!
What are your must haves this NYFW 2015 season?

August 19, 2015

Panama Hat: c/o Ecua-Andino
Tank Top: Zara
Pants: H&M
Sandals: Zara
Clutch: Desigual
...
Finally I am able to post my second part of the "how to wear basics this season" post from Friday.
If you checked out last weeks post, I shared how I wear some inexpensive and super basic pieces in a super efficient way. I love to make the most out of my money and basic, plain pieces are my go to for this season. Whether that is nude heels and a pair of light denim pants like the ones I wore here, I think these are must have pieces that are essential in all of our closets.
I wore this look with a different hat and cute embellished flats for a mommy casual outfit of the day. You can see more on that HERE. That's a look I would wear with my kids when I am running around town getting things done with them on board.
This look is something I would wear more on a weekend with my husband to go to lunch, shopping or even the movies. I love to wear heels as much as I can so I definitely take advantage when the my husband is around!
So next time, you are stuck not knowing what to shop for, remember my tips on versatile, key BASIC pieces for your wardrobe. They will be great all year round, making the most out of your money!

Check out Groupon Coupons for details on how you can save on some of my favorite retailers.

MONDAY BLUES

August 18, 2015

The Monday Blues.
Yesterday started off not as well as it ended. Thankfully.
This picture was taken as I was working on a post for a really fun campaign I have coming up.
My beautiful son just jumped in my shot and I loved how this picture came out...
I love what this picture portrays. His natural and mischievous little smile and my joyful laugh.. because after all my children are truly the essence of every single thing I set out to do.
...
I had an outfit post planned for today but I decided to switch it up and save the outfit post for tomorrow because I felt it was necessary to send out all of my positive vibrations to you.
For whatever it may that you are going through... it always works out.
Hopefully soon I can share exactly what had me so bummed out. It is nothing horrible but definitely had my reasons to feeling crappy. I lived through that saying yesterday, the one that talks about being able to switch your mood and mentality in order to change your day.
I was chatting with a good friend and she told me exactly what I need to hear:
"Allow yourself a certain amount of time to be upset and feel whatever you
have to feel and then, you have to get out of it"
And that is exactly what I did.
I let my head feel the emotions it needed to. And then I was done.
I went off to finish my work... and you will not believe what happened next.
Literally EVERY SINGLE THING started falling into place. So much so that I am still trying to wrap my head around it. I am handling three major changes and new things as we "speak".
I ended my night with a grateful heart.
I have always been the type of person whose emotions are easily displayed right on my face. I can't hide how I feel and I have learned that I have to proud of that. I very proudly wear my heart on my sleeve. And believe me it can be good and sometimes bad. When I am in a bad mood or if I just get a bad vibe from you. I shut down. I trust my gut instinct to the max.
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like I grew up a little.
So many different aspects of what my life is transitioning through right now where put on display.
From personal to my love for my job: blogging.
I can't wait to share (once everything is 100%) what I am talking about.
But for now, I wanted to let you know that yes the light is there. Once we allow ourselves to connect spiritually and emotionally with our own souls. We allow for God and the universe to transpire every single thing that is meant to be OURS.
My mom said: whatever is yours, no one can take away. That woman is never wrong.

HOW TO WEAR BASICS THIS SEASON

August 14, 2015

Tank Top | Zara
Pants | H&M
Embellished Flat Shoes | c/o SheIn
Panama Hat | c/o Ecua-Andino
...
This summer I have been relying on basics for everything!
Basic dresses, basic shorts and basic tops! But trust me they are far from "just a basic b*tch" look lol!
What I love most is that they are easy to mix and match, where in turn you make the most of your money! They are super versatile for the entire year and best of all they are inexpensive.
This tank I wore here, I picked up at Zara for $5.90, that's a regular price and they had them in every color. I love neutrals as much as I love colorful pieces. I also find neutrals to be a very easy transitional piece from season to season. All you would have to do to this look to make it a "fall outfit" would be to simply add a blazer or cardigan sweater and you are good to go!
I know you've seen me in these Ecua-Andino hats the whole summer, but I love them so much! The quality is superb and I am so proud to say they are made in  my beautiful Ecuador!
These flats have been a huge hit! I posted a quick pic on Snapchat (lolabluestyle) the other day and I've received more than a few messages and comments about them!
You can find them HERE for less than $35! I am in love!
Lastly, I wanted to let you guys know that this is a two-part post! I wanted to share how I use my basics to the max and how I took this exact look and added heels and different accessories for a second basic look with a little oomph! That outfit will be up on Monday, so don't miss it!

FALL TRENDS | BOOTCUT PANTS + BELL BOTTOMS

Ben was running around while we were shooting these pics.
This is what really goes on behind the scenes;)
he wasn't dressed for pics but he is still as cute as a bunny!

...
It's only mid August but as you fashionistas know August in the fashion world means Fall (even winter!) and everything New York Fashion Week and fall style is out and about.
...
I wore these jeans a couple of weeks ago for a social media campaign I did with Target. I love them! They are perfect for me and I especially love that they come in different lengths! For a petite little lady like me, this is pretty sweet!
I wanted to wear a very simple look but still chic and stylish. I added this panama hat in black and played around with my shoes to add balance and a little fun with my platform sandals by Zara.
The bag you see here is my go-to every single day, it was one of my Christmas gifts and I have loved it since. It is the perfect size, color and quality. And girls PRICE! So inexpensive!
...
If you aren't following me on Periscope (username: lolabluestyle) - you should!
I am loving the app and have been sharing some fun videos. Today I shared some great news for my blog and how I am upping the ante in order to make the most of my time and be efficient with it!
This week and next I am doing an "unboxing" with some new beauty products for a couple of campaigns I am working on soon!
So check it out! And follow me!

4th BIRTHDAY RACE CAR PARTY

August 10, 2015
You may or may not be wondering where I've been the past few days ...and the answer is simple and exciting! This past weekend we celebrated my son's 4th birthday! And I made sure to enjoy every single moment with him. So today I wanted to share some photos from his special day and tell you all about my DIY party ideas for his super cute race car/hot wheels party I planned for him!
I call him my little car connoisseur! He knows them all! And is obsessed with Hot Wheels!
Since he is my summer baby I wanted to make sure to celebrate as any summer baby should!
With a pool party! The kids truly enjoyed themselves in the spray park, playground and pools.
I pretty much made everything myself, doing simple and easy but still cute little DIY projects all pulled from Pinterest and/or friends!
...
The centerpieces were real car oil bottles that we filled with sand and rocks as weight and
I made the little custom street and route signs myself and put them in the oil bottles.
I loved how these came out! Such a cute and inexpensive idea!
...
A great idea and totally trending party "thing" is chalk everything!
So I got chalkboard stickers at Hobby Lobby and placed those as signs for some of the food and snacks. I did everything from "spare tires" aka Oreos, to "nuts and bolts" aka party mix and of course I made a sign that said "fuel up!" for the beverage station.
I also had a "b" sign that I used as a cute memorabilia and had guests sign it with their wishes for B!
(Thanks Vero for the idea!)
Can you believe I paid $2.49 for it at Hobby Lobby? Always check the clearance section!
I got it because it looked like a tire and this was one of my favorite things from that day!
...
The orange cones that you see on the tables and the snack table were actually the party favors for each kid. I got this idea from a Instagram friend! I filled the cones with fun goodies, fruit snacks and gold fish! The babies got a duckie and applesauce:)
...
I used two Bed Bath & Beyond gift boxes as the stand for the cake (which I kept extra simple this year and just got one at Wegman's) - I got the idea of the gifts boxes from another friend and they worked great! I simply wrapped them in my preferred wrapping paper and voila!
 ...
I also bought the t-shirts you see on my husband and B online...
B's says "PLAYS WITH CARS" and my husband's says "STILL PLAYS WITH CARS" I knew I had to have them the minute I saw them! I love love loved them! And they were a total hit at the party!
...
The day went amazing. It wasn't super humid as it should have been for an August day but that actually made the afternoon really comfortable and nice. Every single thing went so smoothly and I was so happy to see that sweet smile on my baby's face. Planning his birthdays is always so fun, a little stressful but I truly love making and planning these things!
...
If you would like info on anything you see please leave a comment I would love to answer them!
Thanks for checking it out and hope you enjoyed our little race car party decorations!
