My favorite season is officially here!
And truthfully this has been my favorite holiday thus far. Why? Because my son seems to be enjoying it more than any other holiday this year. The joy in his face any time we see a decorated house or anything that has to do with Christmas just warms my heart. Last Friday, we decided to spend our day at home instead of giving in to the masses of the ridiculous Black Friday craze and we decorated our home and put up our Christmas tree. And it was perfect. The entire day was filled with joy and laughs and tons of photos of course. I am so happy I was able to spend this entire day with my little family at home, that's not to say I didn't do a little shopping online that morning though.
By the end of the night once B was asleep I sat down to have my cup of hot chocolate (which I am obsessed with lately) and started to really think about how blessed we are. Blessed to have a warm home, a nice meal daily and simply the best of all, a home filled with tons of laughs and love. Which is why I wanted to share this super special collaboration with you. If you remember a couple of weeks back I shared my favorite items from the Toms + Target collection (available in stores now). So I visited my local Target and picked up some pieces I loved for this holiday season. I bought this super cozy knit sweater and this inspirational and adorable mug. I love the message behind the campaign more than anything else and I am so happy that I am able to give back by shopping these items. The idea behind this #TOMSforTarget campaign is that we should all give back. Even as we get lost in the holiday craze and shop, shop, shop... there is no better feeling than helping others in need. So what better way to give back to those who really need our help than by being able to donate any time you shop. For every item you purchase from the collection TOMS will donate either a blanket via American Red Cross, one week of meals via Feeding America, or one pair of shoes via TOMS, as part of their one-for-one motto. Visit your local Target now through March 12, 2015 to give your small part to our communities. In a world so media obsessed and marketing driven I believe we can all do our part by helping spread the word on this amazing campaign between two of my favorite companies.
