A DAY IN HOBOKEN

Happy first day of August, you guys! I can't believe how quickly June and July went by. But I am ready to enjoy the month of August and make it count. Summer is truly my favorite season, there's nothing not to LOVE about it and as a true South American girl... well I love the heat. So I am ready
to make the final days of Summer 17 count... both adulting and parenting lol

Dave has been working on some house projects (which I am excited to share soon) mostly on Saturdays... so on Sunday's we've been making it a point to go out and enjoy the day with the kids and eat somewhere new or visit one of our favorite towns. This past Sunday? it was Hoboken. Hoboken actually holds a very special place in my heart and always amazing memories from my 20's... I remember numerous club nights, date nights, Halloween parties, you name it, Hoboken was where it was at for me in my 20's... and now that things are, well, a little different, I still enjoy a day spent in this perfect town.

Whenever anyone comes from Ecuador to visit, I immediately want to take them there... and whenever we are thinking of a new spot to hit, Dave and I always thinking of Hoboken first. So it's no question we love to bring the kids here and they love it as much as we do. It isn't too close to home, it's actually about a 40-45 minute drive from my house but it's totally worth it. This past Sunday we spent the afternoon chilling; eating, bike riding at the pier. It was a gorgeous day! We met up with family there and had some amazing Thai rice from one of the food trucks at Pier 13.

I was actually in Hoboken twice this weekend... Friday night I had date night with my bestie/cousin Susan... we had dinner at Charritos, stopped by Pier 13 for some sangria and ended the night at City Bistro's rooftop bar. Exactly what my soul needed! But back to Sunday...
The kids had so much fun, it was the perfect weather... they played on the playground overlooking the NYC skyline and we loved every second of it. I'll sure miss these summer days but I am happy I am able to capture these moments and keep them in my heart forever.

If you're in New Jersey, and even if you are not, you have to make it a point to visit Hoboken. The variety of restaurants, bars, events and just things to do is amazing. If you want the scoop on the best places to visit in Hoboken, follow Hoboken Girl on Instagram, you'll find the best variety of everything to do with the quaint town. I always find myself saving so many of the spots she shares, my Instagram archives are filled with "Things to Do" and Hoboken is at the top of the list.
