CELEBRATING FRIENDSHIP WITH DOVE + ROCKSBOX

February 25, 2015

Ah... nothing like getting back into the swing of things after having a baby! My daughter is 4 weeks old today and I cannot believe how fast the passed few weeks have went by. I was invited to attend a beauty event with Dove last night and it was the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and have a little "me" time. So I pulled myself together, wore my fave knee high boots and red lips and BAM! I was ready to go and enjoy a night of girly fun! And boy did I need it...so glad I was able to attend.
I got to invite a +1 and of course family over anything! I invited my little cousin to come an experience what it is that I do, since she has been my #1 supporter since day 1 of my blogging journey. I was so happy to be able to share the evening with her, we had so much fun.
The big announcement of the night was that Dove has partnered with Rocksbox for an amazing collaboration which I love! Nothing like two companies who care so much about making a woman feel amazing in their own skin and making that their priority. The founders of Rocksbox were there and their story was pretty inspiring. I love being in a room full of women that are inspiring and make me feel like I can too do anything I set my mind to.
Also, Dove introduced with their new Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant which will leave you feeling fresh + dry. No more of those annoying little white balls or wet feeling under your armpits. I can't wait to try mine. And they have some great scents too!
We also got to choose a piece from the Rocksbox collection - and I love my 3 layers necklace, I will be sharing that on my Insta soon! Above are some pics I was able to snap on my iPhone, sorry for the crappy quality but the lighting wasn't so amazing. Dove made the event super fun by having different stations set up, everything from the Rocksbox jewelry station to a makeup station where we had our make up touched up and even a "care package" station where I was able to send a little Dove package to a friend or loved one. How cool is that? And lastly, well the must-have at any party... a photo booth! I even had a sip of champagne! This breast feeding mama had a great time and I am so happy to be back and getting into the swing of things - finally beginning to feel like my old self again.
I hope you enjoyed this little recap. I cannot wait for the next event!

INTRODUCING OUR BABY EMME

February 22, 2015

I am back... somewhat. I have been wanting to share our family photos with our new addition! And finally I have had a minute to do so. It has been an amazing four weeks at the Batista household. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Emme on January 28th. She is perfect! She was born at 10:28 in the morning via cesarean (my second) but I will share my birth story on a different post and share my experience and all the details of that amazing + beautiful day. It truly was every thing I wished for and can't wait to share!
For now I wanted to share our first photo shoot as a family of 4... um 5! including my furbaby Lola. She was not included in the photos because my mom happened to take her for the day on the day of our shoot, I totally regret that move and wish I had included her. But that is just ok because our photos turned out exactly as I pictured them (no pun intended) either way. Our photographer Cynthia from CYTB Photography was amazing. She actually did our spring photos last year and I was in love. Cynthia is great with newborns and families, I really love her simple elegance style - I expressed what my vision was for this shoot, I really wanted a very laid back, casual and in our element type of vibe for these photos. After all, we took these pictures just NINE days after Emme was born, and having had a c-section I really wanted a relaxed atmosphere. And I was so very pleased with the photos, Cynthia totally understood my vision and I couldn't be happier with the results. If you are in the New Jersey/New York area I definitely recommend her services to you, whether that's newborn sessions to toddlers or family shoots. This is the second time we worked together and hopefully not the last. And if you are like me and want to capture your family at it's best (at home) she does house calls, which are so convenient when you just have had a baby.
Feel free to contact her through her website  CYTB Photography and take a look at more of her portfolio or follow her Instagram (HERE) and Facebook page (HERE) for up to the minute photoshoot sessions and ideas for your family too!
Thank you Cynthia for a great photo session! xo
In regards to my beauty, fashion and mommy posts ladies, I have a few posts lined up that I can't wait to share with you all. So stay tuned for that as I try and get back into the swing of things around here.
Thank you all so much for all the sweet messages and loving wishes for my family and I.
xo,
E.
