MIX + MATCH BIKINIS

June 30, 2014
No matter what my age, I have always preferred a two piece bikini over a whole one. Even with my extra lbs in the mid area, I have to try and embrace my body. (So that's not to say I don't own a couple of one-pieces.) I always love to mix and match the pieces and create fun and different styles whenever on vacation or back at home, that was no exception in Mexico. I paired this hot pink printed bandeau top from Victoria's Secret (from my honeymoon) with a emerald green bikini bottom from Forever 21. I love the fun colors and I think they were perfect for Mexico. I often use some tops or blouses as cover ups and I brought this gold and black lace top which I love and have worn often.
--------------

TROPICAL PRINTS

June 26, 2014
In case you haven't noticed anything fresh, tropical and high-waisted, is my latest obsession. And if it's showing off my legs, then double score. We all have a part of our bodies that we prefer or love. For me being petite and not busty, I have to say my legs are my favorite body part. They are not long but I love to show them off any chance I can. Therefore summer is all about dress, skirts and shorts for this little lady! And I think it is great to find a part of your body that works for you and work with that. If you have a nice upper body show it off in a classy way, have great butt or legs then accentuate that. Work with what you have because no one is perfect but we all have something that works for us. I had to have these super cute tropical print shorts from Zara. They were on super sale for $15, I took them with me to Mexico and paired them with this tube top I've had from Express for at least 8 years. It is one of my favorite tops ever that's why I won't let it go. It's actually a crop top but since my shorts are high-waisted you can't tell... so obsessed.
----------

THE HIGH-WAISTED SHORTS

June 24, 2014

I still have a couple of more pics left from my Mexico trip and I hope you don't mind me sharing them;) I wore this outfit for a fun night the day before my birthday, we went to dinner at an Asian Fusion restaurant and watched a show afterward. D and I were able to enjoy a nice night alone since my mom took Ben with her after the show. We had a couple of drinks and enjoyed a fun jazz show at the Red Lounge in our hotel. I wore these adorable puffy shorts in white (a summer staple) which are high waisted and I am so obsessed with lately. I love the detail on the waist and the fact that they are not skin tight, super comfortable even when dressing them up. I paired this with my corset-style tap and nude heels for a fresh and fun look and added this beaded necklace my husband gifted me on one of our anniversaries. The humidity was no joke so I had my hair up most of the time. The blogger top knot was definitely my go-to hair do.
-------------
Y super comoda.

NAIR VIDEO SHOOT

June 23, 2014
Happy Monday!
And it sure is a happy one for me. Last month, I was lucky enough to work with Nair to film five short videos to promote their products as well as give all you ladies some must have tips this summer. From what sandals to use to show off your gorgeous legs to how to take care of your skin after the beach and more. Well I finally received the final videos and I am so happy with them. I often don't take the time to sit back and realize how far my blog has come from the days at our little apartment where I used to write with a newborn on my arms... it truly is rewarding to see my work flourish. Thank YOU for all your support and constant love, without you Lola Blue Style is nothing.
I hope you enjoy the vids!
-----------------
Feliz lunes!

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' WITH SEARS

June 19, 2014

Happy Thursday! For today's post, I’ve teamed up with Sears to bring you this outfit I styled completely inspired by California. When I think of Cali I think, super care free, chic and cool vibe, therefore I immediately thought of doing a very boho chic look. So when I saw this outfit I knew I had to have it and this would be my perfect look. I was able to style this from head to toe shopping entirely at Sears. I love the paisley print; it gives the look a very feminine touch but still a little modern and fresh. The material of this skirt and top are to die for, super comfortable and easy to wear. It is a super laid back yet stylish look, just how I like it. I added these amazing suede lace up wedges I found, they are Bongo. And they are a summer must have, not only do they have the height you need but the comfort as well. The nude color goes with everything, so I know I will be wearing these all summer long. One of the main reasons, I chose these pieces is because I can also wear them with different tops and bottoms to make great use out of them, something I always look for when I shop. I love versatility! I am already thinking of all the ways I can wear the pieces.
When looking for a purse, the first thing that came to mind was a fringe bag, it totally reminds me of Coachella which to me is a Cali staple now. And I was happy I was able to find the perfect one fringe bag! The quality is great and a great alternative to the more expensive brands. When it comes to trends I always rather save a little money since trends eventually start to fade away, so for me this bag was the perfect price and style.
Sears also has an amazing collection of jewelry, I was able to find such pretty bangles on super sale ladies! I bought two necklaces from the Kardashian Kollection too and I know I will make great use out of all of it. Usually I get so picky when planning a specific outfit but I was really impressed and happy I was able to pull the entire look together in just one store. They had a great selection and affordable prices. I definitely recommend you go and check out your local Sears. The Bongo brand was my personal favorite.

Shoes: Bongo via Sears
Jewelry: Sears

In order to give the outfit a bit of sex appeal, I folded my top inward to create an instant crop top. The ruffle detail is so flirty and feminine. I loved it and so obsessed with this look. I can't wait to wear it again + again.

SUMMER TRENDS 2014: HIGH WAISTED BIKINIS

June 17, 2014
By the end of this week you guys might be a little sick of my Mexico pics, hehe. Mexico is just such a beautiful place. The people, the beaches, the drinks, the music, make you feel happy and bold. I have been to Mexico twice, this time we visited Playa del Carmen for the first time. And it was breathtaking. On our second day there I wore my amazing high waisted bikini which I had purchased from ASOS a couple of weeks ago for the trip. I fell in love with the print and it's such great quality and fit. I decided to wear it with my beautiful kimono style cover up which I received from OASAP. I love the turquoise lace detail and the colors, though they don't immediately match per se, they look great together nonetheless. As a mom and fashionista, this bathing suit is perfect for this summer. I love that the high-waisted is back and it helps conceal my extra lbs! The cover up is perfect for the beach + for a fun summer day with ripped shorts and tee.
------------

MY MEXICAN 30TH BIRTHDAY

June 16, 2014
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I was in Mexico last week celebrating my 30th birthday. We visited Playa del Carmen and it was everything I wished for. I will be having a couple more Mexico posts, but I wanted to started off with my birthday, June 13. It was such a beautiful day. My hubby surprised me with room service breakfast to begin the day, then we relaxed by the pool and had some drinks. In the evening, we headed to La Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue) for dinner at Aldea. My husband set up a absolutely breathtaking dinner in this gorgeous restaurant that looked like a cave or cenote, waterfall and all. It was candlelit and simply the most romantic ever. Since we traveled with my mom and grandma we were able to enjoy this dinner just the two of us, which made it super romantic. To top it off I was serenated with Las Mananitas it was simply perfection. My 30th was perfect and just everything I envisioned. I am still feeling 25! But so excited for new things and new memories in my new 30s status!
Dress: c/o OASAP
Purse: Forever 21
Shoes: Zara

Viva Mexico! After dinner we walked around and enjoyed the gorgeous night, we headed back to the hotel and my husband had one last sweet surprise, cake and champagne and a rose petal bubble bath outside on our balcony. We enjoyed the night away... Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It definitely was a very happy one. My best birthday to date. Stay tuned for a Mexico diary:)
