AVEENO ACTIVE NATURALS

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with AVEENO and Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are my own.
For today's post I want to share with you all a couple of amazing all-natural and homemade recipes, but this time I am talking about natural face masks and body scrubs. I have teamed up with Aveeno Active Naturals and Latina Bloggers Connect to tell you a bit about the secrets my mother and grandmother shared with me when I was younger. Ever since I can remember my mother was always on top of me about taking care of my skin. One of her secrets? Oatmeal and brown sugar.
I clearly remember my mom showing me how to make a oatmeal facial mask. So easy and so healthy. All you need is oatmeal and warm water, you mix it up until it has a soft texture. Then continue by exfoliating it onto your face in circular motions for about 2-3 minutes, then rinse. And did you know that oatmeal is actually a anti-irritant and to me, the best kept beauty secret as it has five vital elements that are also found in healthy skin; proteins, anti-oxidants, enzymes, vitamins and lipids. Tip: use cold water when rinsing your face, this will help close your pores.
And lastly another of my favorite beauty home made recipes.... the brown sugar body scrub. For this you will need brown sugar, warm water and a bit of honey. Mix it up into a creamy scrub and voila! Continue on to scrubbing your back and shoulders and then finalize by rinsing as you normally would in the shower. This is my favorite all-natural scrub. It smells delicious and it is so healthy and smoothing. Here is a minute long video narrated by Jennifer Aniston, it is quite interesting to see how oats come from the farm to our everyday lives. It is amazing to see the abundance of ingredients found in nature to make our skin beautiful in a natural way. We have the best and most natural way to be healthy inside and out right at our fingertips.
