bed bath and beyond dining room easter home decor tablescape

EASTER TABLESCAPE DECOR

March 29, 2018
This post is a collaboration with Bed Bath & Beyond. A brand I love. As always all opinions are my own.
Decorating the dining room table is one of my favorite things about the holidays. So Easter of course is no exception. Who doesn't love bunnies and pastels? From cute bunnies to the prettiest spring flowers of the season, I am sharing how I decorated my dining room table for Easter this year and why you should stop by Bed Bath & Beyond stat!

This year I wanted to create a tablescape that we can use for much longer than just Easter while still having all the Easter vibes. I envisioned pretty pastels and beautiful neutrals to match our dining room style. When shopping for home decor I am always conscious of how I can reuse pieces over and over throughout the year.

I ordered some of my favorite pieces from Bed Bath & Beyond and they had such good prices on everything. I even scored the nicest shatter proof wine glasses in a beautiful blush color for just $3.99! What I love most about Bed Bath & Beyond is that it's a one stop destination for all my shopping habits. Whether I am shopping for home decor or small appliances to beauty items and even food, they makes updating your house seamless and doesn't break the bank.  The best part?  Those 20% off coupons. And you guys will love this... the day I got these items I was told by the cashier that you can now sign up to get 20% off your entire purchase (not just one item!) for the entire year! It's called Beyond Plus and it's only $29 a year and you also get free shipping on online orders! Check it out HERE.

So of course I wanted to add little bunny touches, so I went with these adorable bunny ears napkin holders. And when I saw this bunny enamel board online I squealed... how cute is it? The Mud Pie line is adorable, they have so many cute pieces with such cute sayings on them, like the "it's five o' guac somewhere" bowl! I got so many messages from you guys on my stories when I shared it on IG the other day. It's only $19.99 and you can use your coupon:) I've linked all pieces on the table below every single piece is under $35!

Guacamole Set
Bunny Enamel Board
Bunny Ears Napkin Holders
Bunny Salt & Pepper Shakers

I hope you guys enjoyed my Easter tablescape and were inspired to decorate your own table this Easter weekend. You can shop these and more cute pieces at Bed Bath & Beyond. Enjoy your time with family and friends and may your home be filled with blessings and love. Xo

3 WAYS TO BEAT THE WINTER BLUES

March 21, 2018
Yup, we are one whole day into spring today and as I type this there is a major snowstorm outside my bedroom window... so I've decided to ignore that and stop complaining about it and do something about it instead. Which led me to today's post: 3 ways to beat the winter blues!

Technically it should be about 15 degrees warmer and I should be wearing a light jacket instead of snow boots but I am not so we are going to pretend that it's spring out and I am sharing how you can do that too.

BOOK A VACATION.

Google flights is your best friend... you can book some really great deals weeks in advance and save some big bucks on flights. Anytime I'm feeling like a need for a vacation or I am just so over this East Coast weather, I plan a staycation, vacation, whatever my budget is that day. I've been planning a few vacations this year, some road trips and some require flying... Google Flights has really great deals and they alert you when your selected dates have price drops too.

In my search I've also found some really great rentals in my Home Away app. My tip? book a flight, get the rental and start packing boo! If you are traveling with a group of people, renting a house is ideal because a) it's cheaper b) it's more fun!

ONLINE SHOPPING.

Not joking... the best way to feel better (for me!) is to shop for spring and summer... guuurl, try it. But don't blame me for your credit card bill!

You just booked that vacay right above so now you need cute outfits... preferably a bikini, or in my case a cute one piece.  There so many great deals online right now. JCPenney has an additional 30% off site wide, I just bought the cutest mules for just $23! Shop it here. Zara has all their spring/summer collection out and I am dying over the pieces, check out this lace dress, it's perfect for Easter too. And can we talk about swimsuits? This one-piece cut out is perfect, Forever 21 has the best inexpensive swimsuits.

SPRING CLEANING.

Are you tired of my spring cleaning posts yet? I hope not because I have more coming... I've been prepping the house for spring in any way possible, decor, organizing, you name it. From my closet to my jewelry drawers and my next big tackle: the laundry room (stay tuned for that!). Somehow re-organzing and re-decorating for the new season puts me in a great mood. The best thing about it is that I can get rid of things I don't need and give it away to people who can make better use of it. I've been donating, doing giveaways (did you see last night's IG giveaway?) and planning for my big garage sale this May.

When people ask how do you keep your house so clean and organized with 2 little ones, my answer is: I am a freak of organization and cleanliness... trust me it's not pretty some days but it works for me. It actually puts me in a good mood... #OCDProblems.

I hope my little tips helped you feel better about this stubborn winter we are still dealing with... if you book a flight or buy the swimsuit... take me with you!... I am accepting all forms of vacations as payment for these bright ideas;) Happy 2nd day of spring?

SOFT WAVES IN 20 MINUTES

March 14, 2018
I remember the days when I hated doing my hair... true story. I wouldn't grabbed a blow dryer, wand, curling iron or flat iron for the life of me. As a matter or fact, I didn't own a flat iron until 3 months when my cousins gave me one for Christmas because I had added that to out family secret santa wish list!

My 30's are teaching me so many things and one of those things... girl tame your mane! I love long luscious hair.... I always have, I actually cut my hair a few years ago and hated it. So long hair for the win! So for the past 2 years I've managed to curl my hair in 20 minutes or less. And I say less because girl... there are times when I only curl the top layer or the front if I am running late!

The easiest way to curl long hair has been to use the Remington Wand. I bought it at Walmart about 3 years ago and I love it. It was just about $20-$25 (I can't remember) and I've never looked back. I have the 1.5" and I recommend it 100%.

Normally I curl my hair on the second day after I wash it. I wash my hair twice a week.

So I start with dry shampoo at the roots and then part my hair in two. I start from the back to the front by grabbing 2" thick chunks. I curl the hair around the wand towards the back and hold it for about 15 seconds. I do this all around to the front and then the other side. The key for me since my hair is so long is to hold the hair tight against the wand once I have it all wrapped around it. When you let go of the curl don't tease it or even touch it. It will be super curly at the beginning but that's ok because once you are done with your entire head of hair then you will spray some volumizer and hair spray to keep your locks in place and add volume. I use Living Proof's Volume Blast. That's when you can go in with a soft brush or comb or even your fingers to loosen up the curls a but and get that effortless soft wave look in no time.

Watch my video below and let me know what you think.
That's it babes! It takes me seriously no time and I love that my hair looks even better the next day. Just be sure to add a soft hairspray. Below are the 4 hair products I am currently using:

Hope you beauties enjoyed this short video. Let me know if you'd like me to make more videos like this or if you prefer blog posts. I love to hear back from you babes.

SIMPLE WAYS TO STORE YOUR JEWELRY

March 12, 2018
I have to admit I don't own a ton of jewelry but the few things that I do own I love to keep them where I can see them. I had seen something super similar on Pinterest so I had been scouting all my local Home Goods for this glass box with gold details. I got this one for $12.99 and love it so much I want to get more. I've even given these as gifts! They sell them at Home Goods, Marshalls and TJMaxx as well.

This is such a cute way to store your jewelry where you can see them so you don't forget what you have and it makes for the perfect decor for your dresser or vanity. I wanted to share a couple of links below where you can shop similar ones that I've picked out from TJMaxx but I would also recommend you visit your local Home Goods, I guarantee you will find something super similar and more options.

Rectangular Box     White Box with Bow     Square Box

I feel like I am killin' this spring cleaning vibe! I've been organizing updating and cleaning out most rooms in our home. See my closet organization HERE. Now can we get some spring weather please?

8 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE LEXUS GS450h

March 6, 2018
Last week this sexy thang was dropped off in my driveway and it was love at first sight. I came home from the office and we've been attached at the hip ever since. Everything about the Lexus GS450h screams beauty and luxury, from the smallest details to the safety features and luxe add-ons. Here are 7 things I love about the 2018 Lexus GS450h and why I need it in my life forever.

1. Smoothest ride ever! Drives like a tank but moves nimble. What pot holes? haha.
2. We felt so safe in the GS450h, the brakes are so smooth but powerful.
3. Beautiful sleek and sophisticated cool look.  The details in the car are awesome, I like the light that shines to the floor in the back row. Perfect for finding my lost toys, earrings or even makeup.
4. We loved the automatic doors, as soon as you get near the car it unlocks.
5. I love that the steering wheel and driver's seat adjusts automatically every time you turn on the engine. Feels like the car is hugging you! So luxe.
6. The heated steering wheel is a big plus on the East Coast!
7. 12.3" Multimedia Screen was so nice when using the navigation system. The audio system is amazing! I was blasting my favorite tunes all week long... Cardi B anyone?
8. Big fave? Hybrid feature, I drove this car all week and only used half a tank! Such a plus.

If you are on the market for a luxury car, definitely test drive the GS450h. You can thank me later:)

SUPER EASY DIY FACE MASK

March 2, 2018
So before sharing anything with you babes, I always make sure that I use it for at least a couple of weeks. For today's BEAUTY post, I am sharing my latest and greatest DIY facial scrub and mask creation. I can't take all the credit though, this was my mama's recipe yearssss ago. I have to credit my mother for my good skin, she has amazing skin but also, she always always was on top of me to take care of my face and remove my makeup... do weekly masks, etc.

Yesterday I shared that I've been using a super easy and inexpensive face scrub and mask and I promised to give you guys all the details. So without further a-due....
BROWN SUGAR + HONEY!

Yes baby girl, that's it! In a small bowl mix 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of honey and about 4 drops of water. You need the water to liquify the mix a little bit. Once you mix these 3 ingredients and you have a  good thick substance, apply it as a mask and leave on for 15 minutes.

15 minutes later... as you are washing your face, scrub off the dead skin cells by massaging circular motions and rinsing off the mask. I do use this mix 3 times a week as a mask and use it daily as a scrub. You are going to see fast results and a smooth gorgeous radiance. The bonus? use it on your lips as a little lip scrub too!

I love moisturizer but every time I do this mask/scrub, I don't even feel like I need to moisturize because my skin is so smooth and feels great. I apply a little SPF and out the door I go. Winning!
That's it! That's my big beauty secret, thanks to my mama! Brown sugar and honey for the win! Please share your results and if you have other super simple at-home beauty secrets, share them with me below!

Happy you-time babe! Xo.
