THE KARDASHIAN KOLLECTION

May 30, 2014
Yesterday was my 5th wedding anniversary you guys. FIVE. And I must say we had a pretty nice afternoon, one of my husband's best qualities is knowing how to make our dates, the BEST and sweetest dates. I won't make this a cheesy post, I left that for the card... But I will say it has been an amazing 5 years, there is not one I would rather spend my life with, share my happiness with and get through my hurdles with. My life is truly a blessing. And I count my blessings dearly every day. I love you, D. Forever and more.
But on to the clothes! I had been wanting to pick up a couple of the Kardashion Kollection pieces for some time now. And I finally had the chance to head to Sears and check it out. I ended up getting this amazing chic blouse that totally reminds me of Kourtney Kardashian; my favorite of the sisters. And added these amazing cateye sunglasses to complete my look. I thought of adding  a pop of color but I really loved the simplicity and chicness of this black and white look. Such a cool and relaxed spring + summer outfit.
----------------------

ALL ABOUT LACE TOPS

May 29, 2014
Happy Thursday!
If you are like me, you love feminine pieces, therefore the lace tops can't be missed in your closet, I have a few. I recently purchased this one at H&M, it is so delicate and perfect hot summer days. I have worn it twice already and know I will be wearing much more throughout the summer. It is a little see through so I made sure to wear it with a nude bra. And these great jeans from Express that I have had for.ever. And of course couldn't miss my loyal and perfect with everything Zara heels from last summer. I use them so much, they are the most comfortable. I recently attended a baby shower and wore them all day. I wore the same top with high-waisted black pants, it was a great outfit, simple and chic. I felt comfortable all day.

Top/Blusa: H&M
Jeans: Express
Shoes/Sandalias: Zara
Bag/Cartera: Forever 21

Today is my 5 year anniversary with my husband! But we will chat about that later..
I am off to get ready for a beautiful and sweet lunch date ;) For now here are some more lace tops!

SUMMER DRESSES FOR LESS

May 27, 2014
I hope you all had a happy and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. I enjoyed mine to the max. And the weather was perfect too. I love Forever 21 for many things, one of them is there inexpensive summer must haves, like this cute summer dress that I scored for just $12. It is easy to wear and can be combined with heels (like I did here) or with cute flats. For $12 you can't go wrong and the material is actually pretty good. I paired it with my new Jessica Simpson Collection nude sandals and this cute Rag + Bone hat and voila!
----------

SUMMER TREND 2.0: TROPICAL PRINT

May 23, 2014
 Happy Friday!
I feel like time is flying and I love it on some days, depending on the occasion but to be honest it worries me too. Am I truly and fully enjoying my days? I am not too sure. It is already Memorial Day Weekend and I wanted to post an easy but bright and fun outfit idea for this holiday weekend. When it comes to most days, I live in silk pants and a solid top, especially a good ol' v-neck. I don't have the time on most days to over think my outfits therefore I am loving the tropical prints that are on trend right now. They give such a pop of life to any outfit and instantly change up your mood. So for a mommy on the go like me or simply a trend lover, tropical print pants, are the way to go. They are comfortable and make a statement all of their own, super effortless style.
This summer trend is here to stay this summer 2014!

SUN UP, SUN DOWN WITH NEUTROGENA

May 22, 2014
This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with NEUTROGENA and Latina Bloggers Connect, all opinions expressed are my own.

Summer time is just around the corner! The beaches officially open this weekend here in the East Coast and we are jumping for joy. We've had a long and dreadful winter this year, so there is nothing more satisfying that hot temperatures, beaches and frozen drinks. Unfortunately many times we are so excited about the rays of the sun that we don't realize the damage it actually does to our skin. And today I am happy to have partnered up with Neutrogena and Latina Bloggers Connect to bring you the truth about a couple of sun care myth you may have heard about growing up.
One of the things I grew up hearing was that there is no need to use SPF or sunscreen during the winter months. And ladies that is a LIE. The sun has such powerful rays that even during freezing cold temperatures and sometimes even clouds, there can be sun burns and sun damage without us knowing. This is why I use a daily moisturizer with SPF, all year round. And during the summer months I always apply a facial sunscreen and wear a hat when I am out at the beach, pool or water parks. As a mom, I am now more aware and careful when it comes to the damage and consequences the sun can leave behind. While we may sometimes be savoring the moment, whether at the beach, the pool or simply the park, we may be abandoning our skin's best interest. It is so important to protect yourself from the sun. From very early on, especially in babies and kids. I always carry Neutrogena Sunblock Stick in my bag when I am out with my son. Kids are so sensitive to the sun, be sure to protect your little one. Apply the Pure + Free Baby Faces 50+ SPF sunscreen at home before getting ready to go out and keep the Sunblock Stick for reapplications. These two products are gentle and most importantly tear-free.
So this summer, ladies, don't forget to protect your entire family with Neutrogena. They have a product for everyone and I faithfully rely on their sunscreen during our summer months. Keeping a good "summer ritual" will also enhance your family's awareness about the damages of the sun. And teach your children to protect themselves from the sun from early on, possibly leaving them with a life long lesson they can pass on.

And today I invite you to learn a little more about to join the party!

FASHION TRENDS - SUMMER 2014

May 21, 2014
The crop top. I am obsessed. And I love that there is one for every body type and taste. I have to be honest at the beginning I was skeptical. I wasn't sure if I could pull it off. But the more I wear them the more I love the fact that they truly fit any body type. As long as you know your body and wear it comfortably, you can totally pull this summer trend off too! The key is wearing the top with high waisted pants, shorts or skirts. Or simply wearing a loose fit crop top, can make a great difference in how your outfit looks and feels. So yes my lovelies, you too can rock this trend. This summer trend is here to stay so be confident, be comfortable and rock the CROP TOP the best way you can. I want to see!
Disclaimer: I am well aware of my gut shot on the pic above and to be honest I didn't know if I should post that one at first, then I thought to myself... this is me. And I decided to go ahead and post it even if it made me feel a bit uncomfortable at first. You have to be confident in your body, even is that body does not look like Gisele Bundchen. It's yours so wear it loud and proud. I am happy I decided to post this. I want to inspire other mommies like me to own their bodies and be stylish even without the 6-pack ;)
----------
Feliz miercoles!

THE ORPHANED EARRING

May 19, 2014

Happy Monday!
Today's post is about a a charity that you have read about here before. It is close and dear to my heart for more than one reason. One of those is because it helps children, orphaned children in Latin America, as a proud Latina, this makes my heart smile. Especially to know I can be a part of this amazing organization called The Orphaned Earring created by the amazing, sweet and kind hearted Denisse Montalvan. I am proud and happy to have been named a Madrina to the kids and for that reason and more I want to share with you a little bit about what the charity is all about. They are organizing the second annual Quinceanera and I would love for you to be a part of this amazing project. Any little bit helps, you can help make a difference in these kids lives by simply donation the amount you can. Please read on my friends...

For the last 5 years, the Bloganthropy Award winner, The Orphaned Earring or El Arete Huerfano in Spanish, has helped over 300 orphan kids in Latin America with food, clothes, school supplies and arts & crafts.

By collecting orphan earrings and unused jewelry, The Orphaned Earring recycles the materials by making bracelets, thus, giving new meaning to the jewelry and a new home to the orphan earring. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the orphanages but most of the time the bracelet sales sometimes doesn't even reach the $150 a month goal.

Even though The Orphaned Earring struggles every month, it’s incredible to see how $30 a month they feed about 60 children daily for a month in Guatemala. Isn't that amazing? While that is truly an accomplishment, we often forget that these orphanages also house young ladies with dreams of having a Quinceanera celebration, similar to a Sweet 16, a Quinceanera is a big deal in Latin American countries that celebrates a girls right-of-passage. Without parents to make this celebration happen, these young ladies will never have a special day due to the hardships they face.

We often forget that there are sick people out there who lure these teenage girls to run away with promises of a better life, a girl with unfulfilled wishes may be especially vulnerable to falling victim. We want to let these girls know that they are loved. During this crucial time in life we want to make sure they know dreams come true and give them hope for the future.

This year, in addition to our regular contributions and ongoing help to each center, we want to make the dreams of 7 teenage girls come true and help them get the Quinceanera they deserve but we need your help! Help The Orphaned Earring raise money for celebrations for 4 girls in Mexico and 3 girls in Guatemala. This is how you can help!

· Donate using The Orphaned Earring Paypal Link or send your donation to donation@theorphanedearring.com

· Help meet our goal by contributing to the #QuinceDrams Fundly campaign and encourage your family and friends to #DoGood by donating any amount. Simply click here: https://fundly.com/quincedreams

You can also become a monthly supporter to help us continue bring smiles to over 300 children!

· Become a monthly donor. Any amount helps! Click on this Paypal Link, enter the amount you want to donate in the amount box and click on the recurring monthly payment.

It might be ambitious of The Orphaned Earring to think they can make all their orphaned children dreams come true, but with your support I know NOTHING is impossible!

You are invited!

The Guatemala Celebration will be held Sunday, August 17th. Thankfully our three beautiful girls already have Quinceanera dresses that were donated for last year’s Quinceanera celebration. We just need to raise money for the party and gifts for the girls!

Mexico girls: To our surprise, the girls in Tijuana want to do a history tour in D.F. Mexico. They've read about the history of their country and dream with traveling to visit the museums and historical sites in D.F. Instead of spending money on a party, they would like help with plane tickets. Once in D.F. we would find a church or friends to allow them to stay with them.

FLOWERS + FRILLS

May 14, 2014
Happy hump day dolls!
First let me start off by saying I have been a little busy personally and that is why you haven't seen much of me around here. At least since last Thursday. I have been working on new ways to bring you something different than just outfits, outfits, outfit... But with all that comes time management, which I totally such at most times. Having a toddler, husband and a house to care for is priority for me, so that is why the blog posts have been a little slow. So I do apologize, I am still here happy and motivated!
On to the outfit... I am loving all the style of crop tops I am seeing around, that is why I couldn't pass up this adorable top from Zara. I also purchased these fan pants to go with and added some color with this orange sandals from last summer which I got from Forever 21. As you can see I shot these quickly in my little office area which is still a big work in progress. But soon when I complete it I will share more pics and deets.
------
Feliz miercoles a todas!

Thanks to my amazing husband for these pics... I wanted to also shoot a "typical" outfit pic that I do for Instagram on those days we don't have time for pics, I thought it would be a fun way to do something different. I hope you like these, have a great rest of the week!
